Getting Crafty at MACA

When: Tuesday, May 10 – Saturday, May 14

Where: McDowell Arts Council (MACA) 50 S. Main Street, Marion NC

McDowell Arts Council Association (MACA) has been promoting locally-made artisan crafts since 1972 and this September is no exception! Their shop is stocked with Bigfoot-themed pottery mugs, jewelry, gourds, plushies, stickers, zines, magnets, even clocks and small furniture; all designed and handmade here in McDowell County, NC. MACA is open Tuesday-Saturday 12-5pm and will be extending their online inventory this month to include extra Bigfoot merchandise (www.etsy.com/shop/McDowellArts).

Even Yeti’s have a sweet tooth! Marion’s own Bigfoot Trax Ice Cream Cups will have you roaring like a Yeti. Stop by Artesana Ice Cream to try this limited edition ice cream cup before it hibernates for the year.

Bigfoot Photo Booth

When: Happening daily from 5- 10 p.m.

Where: Refinery 13, 13 North Main Street, Marion, NC

All week, drop in to take pictures with your friends at our Bigfoot Photo Booth wall.

Moonshine Tasting at

Bigfoot Historic Ghost Walk

Where: Each walk leaves from Ingenious Coffee Roasters, 140 South Main Street, Marion.

When: Thursday, May 12. Walks occur at 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. (Tickets required)

Join the McDowell County Historical Society that will take attendees through Marion’s Historic Depot District. During this hour and a half journey, you’ll learn more about Marion’s bootlegger history and about some of the ghost stories that call the area home.

Bigfoot Rocking Weekend

Featuring Classic Highway & SmasHat

When: Friday, May 13 at 8 p.m.

Where: Spillway Bridge & Co. , 93 South Main Street, Marion, NC

Enjoy the sounds of Classic Highway and SmasHat, bands that are known to rock the hits and the stage. Marion’s only Music Hall is hosting this event that’ll have you rock’n out the night before the Bigfoot Festival.

Fresh Seafood at Crabby Abby’s

When: Saturday, May 14, from 12 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Where: Crabby Abby’s, 105 South Main Street, Marion.

Enjoy seafood, steaks, burger and more at Crabby Abby’s, located in downtown Marion. The restaurant will be running a variety of specials during the WNC Bigfoot Festival.

Bigfoot Dash 5k

When: Saturday, May 14 – 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.

Where: Marion Elementary School, 209 Robert Street, Marion, NC

Cost: $30-40 per participant. Pre-registration encouraged but not required.

Race with Bigfoot through Marion before enjoying the WNC Bigfoot Festival downtown! This race will be a fun, but challenging. Click here for details and to sign up.

A Selfie with Bigfoot

When: Saturday, May 14, 11 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Where: Refinery 13, 13 North Main Street, Marion NC

Bigfoot himself will be stopping by for photo ops! Families can make plans to stop in earlier and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities, food and of course photos with Bigfoot.

Where: Taylors Brewing Company, 125 West Henderson Street, Marion

Makes plans to enjoy tunes from Skiffle Creek band while enjoying an ice-cold beverage from Taylors Brewing Company, one of Marion’s newest taprooms and breweries.
